Working with Global Industry Partners: CPMA Celebrates ETAD’s 50th Anniversary

David Wawer, CPMA Executive Director, attended the 2024 ETAD General Assembly and the ETAD Pigments Operating Committee (POC) May 23 & 24 in Zurich, Switzerland. ETAD is the global technical and scientific trade association for organic pigments and dyes. The organization develops technical standards for measuring and evaluating pigments and dyes and is the lead European pigments association for EU REACH pigments and dyes registrations.

CPMA works in partnership with ETAD to promote positive government policies and regulations affecting organic pigments globally. As part of this year's meeting, Wawer discussed the North American regulatory landscape impacting the color pigments value chain, including PFAS and packaging legislation being proposed in various states. In addition, industry experts shared insights about proposed EU chemicals laws and regulations.

A key highlight of the 2024 ETAD General Assembly was the celebration of 50 years of the founding of ETAD. A social event hosted by ETAD during the conference formally recognized distinguished volunteer leaders from earlier years as well as retired ETAD staff. Chairman of the Board Dr. Ulrich Veith (Sun Chemical), who also served as Chairman of the Pigments Operating Committee, presided over General Assembly events and POC meetings.
