We join colleagues across the printing ink and color industries in remembering George Fuchs, Director of Regulatory Affairs and Technology at NAPIM, whose contributions, leadership, and friendship left a lasting impact on our community.
For decades, George Fuchs was a trusted collaborator, valued advisor, and friend to CPMA and the color industry. A go-to expert on technical and regulatory matters, he brought unmatched knowledge, practical insight, and an unwavering commitment to advancing the printing ink and color industries.
"George was the kind of person every industry needs. He was incredibly knowledgeable, always generous with his time, and genuinely cared about helping others succeed," said Robert Helminiak, Executive Director of CPMA. "Whether working through a complex regulatory issue or collaborating on a new industry resource, George approached every challenge with positivity, professionalism, and a smile. His passion for this industry was evident in everything he did, and his friendship will be deeply missed."
George was a constant presence at CPMA meetings and a strong advocate for the color industry. He partnered with CPMA on important resources, including the Pigments Raw Materials Handbook for pigments used in inks, helping create tools that continue to benefit manufacturers and the broader supply chain.
His contributions were recognized throughout his career with numerous honors, including NAPIM's Printing Ink Pioneer Award, the Metro New York Printing Ink Association's Man of the Year Award, and the William D. Schaeffer Environmental Award. At CPMA's 100th Anniversary celebration, we were proud to recognize NAPIM with the Industry Partner Award, which George accepted on the organization's behalf.
George's legacy extends far beyond his accomplishments. It lives on in the relationships he built, the expertise he shared so generously, and the lasting impact he made on our industry.
Our thoughts are with George's family, friends, and colleagues at NAPIM. He will be greatly missed and long remembered.
